Applied Marine Ecological Research: Conduct research on planktonic ecosystems, coastal water quality, and algal blooms; support the development of INCOIS’ operational services, including algal bloom alerts, small pelagic fishery advisories, and jellyfish aggregation alerts.
Scientific Planning and Field Operations: Plan scientific studies, design experiments, execute field campaigns, conduct onboard experiments, and manage in situ data systems.
Management of the Water Quality Nowcasting System: Manage observatory performance, define data quality control criteria, monitor for environmental anomalies, and analyze data to study coastal biogeochemistry and support automated water quality nowcasting.
Capacity Building: Conduct lectures, workshops, and hands-on training sessions focused on plankton ecology, marine biogeochemistry, and ocean colour remote sensing; support skill development for students, researchers, and professionals in marine science.
International Engagement: Actively involved with the IOC Intergovernmental Panel on Harmful Algal Blooms (IPHAB), contributing to global initiatives on monitoring, research, and management of harmful algal blooms.
