Summary

The Tropical Americas and Caribbean (TAC) Ocean Decade Task Force will hold its next meeting on 22 September 2025 at 9:00 a.m. (GMT-5, Colombia). This session represents a key moment to reinforce the role of the TAC region within the framework of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, recognizing the strategic importance of its marine and coastal ecosystems for global sustainability. The meeting will provide a space to share updates on Decade activities, review the Task Force objectives, align priorities with the IOCARIBE Biennial Work Plan, and review ongoing and planned activities. By fostering cooperation among governments, research institutions, and stakeholders, the Task Force seeks to ensure that the region continues to contribute actively to the global agenda, while addressing regional challenges such as sustainable ocean management, capacity development, and knowledge sharing to support decision-making.
